facts-on-invisalign

A straight, beautiful smile is something that everyone wants. And rightfully so, since a good smile can do wonders for your appearance and self-esteem. It’s been proven that those with a great smile are more confident in social and professional situations.

Getting that smile, though, isn’t an ideal process. Most people think the only way to get straight teeth is still with traditional orthodontics. Thankfully, that’s no longer the case. Other options for treatment exist – including one without and metal in your mouth.

What is Invisalign®?

Invisalign® is a new process for straightening teeth you can find in the office of most any dentist in the country. Invisalign® employs clear plastic aligners instead of wires and brackets to straighten your teeth.

How does it work?

During your first visit with Dr. Sellke & Reily, you’ll have a mold made of your teeth. Once that mold has dried and formed, the rest of the team here will work on creating a series of clear, plastic aligners that are made to slowly move your teeth into correct alignment. Invisalign® usually lasts about 24 months, though it can go longer or shorter depending on your needs.

Will it work for me?

Invisalign® isn’t a fit for everyone, but most people will be able to benefit from it. Our team here at Orthodontic Specialists of Lake County  in Grayslake, Antioch and Gurnee, Illinois, will help you determine if it can make the difference you want to see in your smile.
